Fires

Burning Permits for use in the City of Pine Springs are not issued by the State, the County, DNR, or the City.

The only type of fires allowable in the City are recreational fires of 36” or less, which must be constantly
attended.  

Brush fires are allowable only when the ground is covered in snow.

If anyone should see a fire that threatens either vegetation or property, or is obnoxious, or of a size uncalled for, call Fire or Sheriff Authorities at 911. 

You may never burn:

  • leaves

  • garbage, defined as discarded material resulting from the handling, processing, storage, preparation, serving, or consumption of food.

  • hazardous wastes

  • industrial solid waste

  • demolition debris of commercial or institutional structures

  • salvage operations

  • motor vehicles

  • oils

  • rubber

  • plastics

  • chemically treated materials

  • other materials which produce excessive or noxious smoke, such as tires, railroad ties, chemically treated lumber, composite board, drywall, wiring, paint, or paint filters
